The Department of Biomechatronics Engineering at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology received IEET accreditation in 2019 and provides an educational environment that balances engineering theory with practical training. The program focuses on two core areas: Power and Machinery, and Sensing and Electronic Control. Coursework integrates mechanical design, mechatronics, automatic control, optical sensing, image processing, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence. Through capstone projects, internships, and industry–academia collaboration, students gain experience in problem analysis, engineering practice, and interdisciplinary systems integration, preparing them for careers in agricultural machinery, intelligent automation, environmental monitoring, bioinformatics, and biomedical engineering.
